Primary Care Centre, Ranelagh
On this project the design responds directly to the immediate context. The centre is split into two blocks to reduce the bulk of the proposal. The front building contains the administrative section of the centre and this block continues the building line of its’ immediate neighbour. The side elevation of this block is very prominent being visible from a distance. It is designed to provide a large dramatic glazed feature commensurate with its’ landmark status.
The rear block contains all the clinical elements of the centre. This three storey building has one storey at basement level to minimise the building’s impact on its’ neighbours. A steel and translucent glass screening system has been designed at first floor level to prevent any over looking of the adjacent back gardens and houses.
