​Portlaoise Midland Regional Hospital - Bereavement & Prisoner Suites

The Prisoner and Bereavement Suites at Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise were a very sensitive acute healthcare project we are proud to have worked on. The Bereavement Suite was located within the Maternity Department and was designed to ensure new parents had the space and environment to grieve in privacy and in a homely environment that still provided all the clinical requirements of an acute hospital. In both cases a calm colour palette was chosen and in the prisoner suite shutters were introduced to soften the visual impact of the necessary bars on the windows.
